What kind of Batteries do I need for my Boat? Marine batteries explained!

Lithium batteries? What about AGM or Lead Acid batteries? What does VRLA mean? One of the most common questions I get from my most popular video on the channel (you can check that out here: https://youtu.be/z8vjVBew1I4 ) are from folks asking what kind of batteries should they use on their boat, what size to buy and what type. So, with the fishing season closed until June, I thought it would be a great time to start a video series on boat maintenance and tips, and I figured we'd start with the basics, and that's your boat's power source! In today's video, I run over the most common battery applications on your boat, different battery technology, sizes required, preferred brands and some general installation and maintenance tips to maximize the life of your batteries.
I hope this video helps you guys out, please drop a comment if you have a question and I'll try my best to help you out :) Tight lines everyone!

Dan Richard Fishing

My name is Dan Richard and I am a multi-species angler that fishes out of Montreal, Canada but travels all over chasing a variety of fish species. I love to record my adventures as an every day fisherman, with real-life issues and no special stocked ponds, sponsors or special interests that influence my videos. Everything you see is genuine fishing as it unfolds, and all of my reviews, feedback and product suggestions are 100% honest and I only talk about products I really use. I buy all of my own gear, tackle etc so what you see me use on camera is what I use off camera. Subscribe and follow my adventures as I show you how to catch a huge variety of mostly freshwater fish, as well as tips on tackle, clothing, gear as well as tips on repairing and modifying your boat. I even check out professional events such as the FLW Tour and occasionally fish with professional anglers and guides. Join me while we fish for bass, pike, sturgeon, muskie, crappie and much more!
