Fishing Line 101: What is a leader line? Which fishing lines are best?

It seems as if there is an endless choice of fishing lines today. From all of the different braided fishing line, different leader line types, mono, fluorocarbon, etc. Note: This fishing line video is part of an online kid's fishing course. To access the full kid's course for free, click here now: http://www.saltstrong.com/kids-fishing/ Some takeaways from this fishing line video: Keep the main line light as possible. In most cases, this main fishing line will be braid unless you are using a kid's reel. In that case, monofilament is just fine. Thin fishing line will also allow you to cast further as well. Regarding braided fishing line, our favorite is PowerPro. For kids fishing for inshore fish, the highest pound test line you should need in most cases in 10lb test line. In most cases, use 15lb to 30lb leader line. For kids, you really only need monofilmanent (not fluorocarbon leader).
