There are several reasons you will need a double line when out fishing. For all double line knots, I solely use the the bimini twist. It is a 100% strength knot that I use to attach leader using a variety of knots. It works great with either mono or braid.

The bimini twist has been my go to knot for the past ten years or so.
Now with all the braided lines, it is used on nearly all my outfits.

Do you have a go to knot that you use?

Oh, also the Trilene Knot when attaching mono/leader to the lure/bait.
