Deep Drop fishing Grouper trip #2 (VA Beach)
This is another Deep Drop adventure with Sunny Caraco out of Virginia Beach. We got into Monster Grouper right out of the gate and then some nice Rose Fish. The fishing was on fire for grouper and rosies. Golden Tile were next on the list and we got one on the first drift for them. BUT!
About 11am another boat out there near us had an engine problem that left them stranded. USCG could not get them in and Sea Tow Denied them service! (even though they had a Gold Membership with unlimited distance towing!) With forecasted afternoon t-Storms we dropped everything and started towing. Thankfully the guys on the No Mercy out of Rudy heard about our issue on the radio and met us about 20 miles out to complete the tow! After the first 50 miles of towing we were not going to make it on fuel ourselves without someone else taking over. Those guys left a nice safe boat slip to brave thunderstorms and worsening conditions to help people they didn't know. They earned our gratitude and great respect. Thank you No Mercy & crew for the assist. We hope to see you out there again.
