Goliath Grouper Aggregation on Jupiter's Wreck Trek and MG111 Wreck
This short video combines two dives. The first is the Wreck Trek, which is a series of three small wrecks, and the MG111. Goliath groupers (Epinephelus itajara) aggregate at these spots during aggregation season (the fall). The Goliaths defense mechanism is a series of loud "booms" they create with their mouths, which is exhibited at the
1:10 minute mark (the sound is pretty loud under water). Diving with Jupiter Scuba Diving off the Kyalami with buddies Gary Kessler and Michele Reed. The Amazing Anne is our guide.
